I have been looking for a while for an emergency small radio that I could hand crank Radio. I wanted it small enough that I could throw in a back pack, not too heavy and not too cumbersome. Price is of course very important. I was really surprised when I found this Ambient on amazon for under 20 bucks. First let me be honest I have only used it a few times in my home and not in the field but I am totally impressed. It is very compact, has a rubberized plastic body and it works great. The reception is very good with and without the antenna extended. Just remember this thing has a small speaker so don’t expect Bose sound quality
